The Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright

instagram: quite a few of my students should remark on this re-post as they are aspiring architects :-) Hope your summers are going well

Browse the #franklloydwright tag for more photos of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture.

Today is Frank Lloyd Wright’s birthday! The renown American architect would have been 145 years old today. Wright is well-known for designing structures that were in harmony with humanity and its environment, exemplified in buildings such as Fallingwater and Taliesin West.

Appropriation -

so, the people who tell you that a re-discovered da Vinci is worth 162m Euros, what is they are doing, actually? They are art thieves, in my humble opinion. Ironic too that the painting is of the christian saviour Jesus Christ. They are telling you, openly that they dictate the price, the worth, the value. From that point on, they will control the sale, then it depends on the ‘owner’ whether you get to see it or not. Please do remember this is a painting. The minute you start throwing prices like this around, you devalue the work considerably.

What is the function of art?

There are many.

One is to ‘question’.

To question what?

Anything.

Look at this. art questioning itself. Great.

Wouldn’t it be great if human beings could learn from this in general?

“A caustic network is created when a disturbed water

surface acts as positive and negative lenses as direct light passes

through the water and then rakes over something opaque”
